EUROLTA Teacher Training for foreign language teachers

EUROLTA

EUROLTA – a name maybe not so well known throughout the language teaching world at this stage, but definitely one to make a note of!

The EUROLTA Certificate (European Certificate of Language Teaching to Adults) is a fairly recent addition to the range of training courses offered by IH Berlin PROLOG available to prospective and in-service language teachers, but with its emphasis on developing practical teaching skills, input sessions spread across seven weekends and the fact that teachers of all languages can join the sessions, it is clear that EUROLTA in Berlin is something unique and extremely exciting!

Our first seminars and workshops, looking at language acquisition, language analysis, the •Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the two skills of listening and speaking, took place on the last weekend of January. Three trainers and twelve participants enjoyed a weekend of experimentation, activities, experience sharing and hard work. There was plenty of thought-provoking material for everyone involved and the relaxed (but productive) atmosphere meant that everyone could get the most out of the various sessions without being overloaded.

The same group will meet again at the end of February for the second round of seminars and workshops and a completely new course is scheduled to begin in March. All the details you need can be found on our EUROLTA website, including course descriptions, dates and prices. We are confident that with the backing of the •ICC – The Language Network, and the European Union, this will develop into a highly-regarded and sought after teaching qualification.
