February 2009
Welcome to IH Berlin PROLOG’s first newsletter of 2009! Although the economic news could be better, we have still been receiving a healthy amount of bookings for German and other languages. We hope that 2009 will be a success for you, too. First up, we have a brief review of the annual International House Director of Studies conference which took place in London at the start of January. Next is an outline of some important new courses at IH Berlin – a new generation of STANDARD PLUS courses which combine language learning with the study of a variety of topics and subject areas. We follow this with a simultaneous "farewell" and "hello"; Michael Carrier has passed on the baton to Lucy Horsefield, who is IH World’s new C.O.O. Finally we’ve got a little Berlin news for you – both connected with language. We take a quick look at the Museum of Typography and a new exhibition on the German language at the German History Museum. Enjoy!
