Dublin Conferences
This year's International House Directors conference took place in Dublin, from 03.05.-06.05.2008.
Directors from 66 International House schools and guests came to Ireland’s capital for a lively four-day conference to discuss business topics, new developments within International House World Organisation and general points of interest.
In parallel sessions, participants could choose between an English track, a Modern Language track with a focus on Languages other than English or a Technology track. Subjects such as quality management systems (e.g ISO 9000:2001), new teacher training products (e.g. Certificate of Advanced Methodology), European projects (e.g. IH Berlin’s •TRIALOG), introductions of new schools (e.g. •IH Xi´an, China) or the impact of Content and Language integrated Learning (CLIL) were only some highlights of the broad programme.
Beside the conference work participants could enjoy the sightseeing attractions of Dublin for example a tour through the Guinness brewery with a dinner reception in the •Guinness sky bar with a 360° panorama view over Dublin, sunset included.
After a one-day break, the Study Abroad IH schools welcomed their guests for the •14th annual IH Workshop (07.-09.05.08).
The workshop takes place every year in another International House location. This year it was IH Dublin's turn. For agents wishing to learn more about the IH schools the workshop is the perfect venue to get in touch with a greater number of schools.
Business was the order of the day as 66 agency delegates met with representatives from 34 IH schools around the world. Evening was the time to relax as delegates were treated to traditonal Irish dancing and a drive through the beautiful Irish countryside.
