Get to know PROLOG - Annika

AnnikaI decided to become a teacher during my studies, where I had met many English teachers from every corner of the world. I liked the idea of having a job that would be profitable wherever I was in the world. Having spent a lot of time abroad, I knew that’s what I wanted to do in the future.

I began working as an English teacher and soon noticed how many people wanted to learn German, which I then started teaching as well. I started at PROLOG at the beginning of 2009, where I enrolled in the "additional qualification" to become a German teacher. Soon after the training, I got an offer to work at PROLOG. Even before my time at PROLOG, I had organized and taught smaller teacher training programs, so I knew that this area would interest me. After having worked at PROLOG for a time, I had the chance to work in this field after completing my training as a teacher trainer. When I finished the teacher training program in April 2010, I became active in the teacher training department and am glad that my choice is both varied and challenging, while allowing me to continue teaching students first hand.

Berlin is my home because it is a place where so many languages and nationalities come together…sometimes you have to wonder if you’re in Germany at all! As well, just knowing that there is so much to discover in this city fascinates me. You can often find me having coffee with friends in a café or perhaps a gin tonic at the bar, unless of course I’m letting off some steam at the karaoke bar or the billiard table.
