ICEF in Berlin
The start of November saw IH Berlin PROLOG involved with the •ICEF Berlin workshop, the premier annual gathering of education travel and international student recruitment professionals worldwide. As in previous years, approximately 1,600 participants from more than 1,000 organisations around the world got together at the •Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin to network, establish new business relationships, renew existing partnerships and meet key industry figures.
The three-day event kicked off with a series of presentations and seminars covering a wide range of industry-relevant topics, developments and statistics. Then came two full days of pre-arranged appointments, bringing participants together to explore business opportunities, take the first steps towards fruitful business relationships and talk to people from all over the world working in the industry. An increase of over 40% in participant numbers since 2005 illustrates just how important this event has become for everyone involved.
Our director, Uwe Stränger, had approximately 40 formal appointments during the two business days. The main hall was dominated by the IHWO island, formed by tables of 20 IH schools with their representatives. As usual, The Intercontinental hotel provided their famed German hospitality with excellent food and great service.
As everyone should know, IH Berlin PROLOG likes a party! Continuing the tradition of successful IHWO parties from previous years, a party for 120 key industry representatives was held at one of our favourite locations, •Umspannwerk Ost.
