PROLOG's Winter Party

Werder exteriorWith approximately 90 teachers and staff working at IH Berlin, it’s not always easy to get everyone together in one place at one time, but this is exactly what happened on January 22nd as the school’s Director, Uwe Stränger, sprung his annual surprise at PROLOG’s Winter Party. Two buses arrived at the school to transport the guests to a mystery location – the historic old quarter of Werder, located on its own island in the river Havel.

Once the buses arrived at their destination, Lendelhaus, the party could begin! The •Lendelhaus is now a restaurant and wellness centre, but its origins as a brewery (going back as far as 1573) are still clear for everyone to see.

As most of IH Berlin’s teachers had not been to Werder before, tours of the historic island had been organised to provide details of the island’s impressive history and give everyone a chance to take in the views across the Havel.

WerderOver food and wine, our international team of teachers from more than 20 countries had the opportunity to socialise and relax together. Uwe Stränger had even made sure that a couple of dance coaches would be on hand to run everyone through a variety of dances, such as disco, waltz and salsa, followed by an open dancefloor for everyone to strut their stuff. Let’s just say that there are some teachers at PROLOG who now how to move on the dancefloor! Roll on January 2012!
