Summer festivals
Every year, as soon as the temperature goes up, Berlin bursts with outdoor festivals. Among the classics are the •Carnival of Cultures (May 09-12), •Fête de la Musique (June 21), and celebrating its 30-year anniversary... •Christopher Street Day/Gay Pride Parade (June 23). Also on plan as an alternative to Love Parade is the new •B-Parade (July 12) that promises to fill the Tiergarten (our central park) with the thumping beats we love so much. Tiergarten will also be busy with a repeat of the 2006 Fan Fest for football fans to enjoy the European Championship (June 23-29).
A bit on the quieter side, the •5th berlin biennial for contemporary art (April 5 - June 15) highlights international artists and their works. For a full list of events, please take a look at the •Berlin Tourism site. But be sure that your calendar will be full on every weekend till September!
