Summer festivals
Every year, as soon as the temperature goes up, Berlin bursts with outdoor festivals. Among the classics are the •Carnival of Cultures (May 25-28), •Fête de la Musique (June 21), •Christopher Street Day/Gay Pride Parade (June 23) and maybe or maybe not •Love Parade, which has always been a precarious party. As the date nears, we’ll see if the Senate of Berlin makes the right choice. As of now, they’re offering something called •B-Parade (July 21) that promises to fill the Tiergarten (our central park) with the thumping beats we love so much.
Or on the more subtle side, •Museum Island has a four-month-long line-up of concerts, theatre, and films that can be enjoyed in the beautiful gardens surrounding the museums. For a full list of events, please take a look at the •Berlin Tourism site. But be sure that your calendar will be full on every weekend till September!
