Winter party
At the start of a new year, there’s nothing everyone at IH Berlin PROLOG looks forward to more than our annual party! Uwe Stränger, PROLOG’s Director, is famous throughout the ranks for the secrecy and mystery with which he surrounds the location and programme for our parties. He knows very well how much we all love surprises! In past years we’ve been wandering through forests looking for wildlife, high in the sky up Berlin’s radio tower and living it up in a former East German power station turned restaurant. This year’s party was scheduled for January 23rd and all we knew was that alongside having fun, one aim of the event was to raise money to support the projects we’re involved with in •Burkina Faso.
Around •100 of PROLOG’s teachers, administrative and office staff, plus partners and guests, were treated to a wonderful night at •Villa Luft. There was delicious food, plentiful wine, wild dancing and Uwe Stränger on top form as the evening’s master of ceremonies! With 16 different languages taught by native teachers at IH Berlin, the evening provided our multinational staff with a well-deserved opportunity to socialize, show off their dancing skills and simply have fun!
In order to raise money for the projects in Burkina Faso, Uwe Stränger organised a raffle and auction of quirky, interesting and beautiful objects. Bidding was heated at times, spirits were high and everyone had a lot of fun. The most important result was that €1170 was raised! We are sure that there are very few places in the world that need this money more than Burkina Faso. But we are also sure that there are very few places where this amount could be of better use. Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets and took part in the auction! All that’s left to do now is start wondering what Uwe Stränger has in store for us in 2011!
